Calimesa Counseling Center

My name is Jody Lynn Day, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. In 2009, I obtained my master’s degree from Hope International University and have since been blessed to work with individuals and families from all walks and stages in life.  

 

I was raised in a small town in Alaska. Through the years I saw many individuals lose sight of their full potential and purpose.  Emotional pain had crippled some in many areas of their lives. Observing these personal traumas resulted in my passion to come alongside those who are hurt, alone or feeling lost and work towards a life of healthy relationships and happiness. 

 

For years I have had the opportunity to use my skills as a therapist within many different theraputic settings.  I have worked closely with local school districts providing mental health services to hurting youth and their families.   Knowing that student misbehavior is often misinterpreted, I worked to help them cope with the personal pains in more positive and healthy ways.

 

I have also worked inside and outside the prison system, coming alongside those who had experienced traumatic events, resorting to substance abuse and a life of crime in order to cope with their pain.  Through therapy, we have been able to find healing, change negative patterns, and begin mending broken families. 

 

In 2013 my amazing twins were born.  My passion was held both, with my family and within my love for therapy.  At this time, Calimesa Counseling Center was formed allowing myself and other to be present within their families and follow their hearts towards helping others. 

 

In additional to therapy, I currently am a Professor within the Psychology Department where I teach classes ranging from Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology, etc.
